# Acknowledgments and notices

This repository contains an independent reading companion for the classical
*Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra*.

## Sanskrit and study notes

- **Devanagari** contains the classical Sanskrit verses.
- **IAST** is an editorial transliteration for reading support.
- **English** contains concise, independently written study notes. They are not
presented as a critical or line-by-line translation.

Published translations and commentaries remain indispensable. Recommended
companions include:

- Jaideva Singh, *Vijñānabhairava or Divine Consciousness*
- Christopher Wallis, the
[Tantra 112 translation and practice resource](https://tantra112.app/vijnana-bhairava-tantra)

No English translation from either publication is redistributed here.

## Chant audio

The recordings were generated with
[Vāgdhenu](https://github.com/prathoshap/vagdhenu), a meter-aware Sanskrit
chant TTS system developed by **Prof. Prathosh A. P.**, Indian Institute of
Science, Bengaluru.

- [Vāgdhenu project page](https://prathosh.in/vagdhenu/)
- Vāgdhenu source code is licensed under Apache-2.0.

This repository contains only generated study audio. It does not redistribute
the Vāgdhenu codebase, model weights, training data, or training pipeline.
The recordings must not be used to impersonate the model’s source speaker.

## Typefaces

The reader self-hosts **Gentium Plus** and **Noto Serif Devanagari**. Both are
distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; their license texts are
included in `fonts/`.

## Scope of the repository license

The repository’s MIT License applies to the reader’s original HTML, CSS,

classical Sanskrit text, third-party publications, Vāgdhenu, or its underlying
models.

This is not an official Vāgdhenu or Tantra 112 release, and it is not a
